ALMOST 2,000 runners have registered for the inaugural Chelmsford Marathon later this month.
Now, with less than three weeks to go until the big event, organisers have released details of the route.
The multi-terrain course takes in Central Park, through Admirals Park, Bellmead Park, Tower Gardens, the village of Writtle and Hylands Park.
Jessica Dellow, events manager, said: “Obviously we have high hopes for this year’s route, however we understand that at such an early stage in the Marathon’s development, feedback from runners, spectators and residents will inform the route in future years.
"Please do get in touch after the event if you have any specific constructive feedback.”
The marathon has been organised by The J’s Hospice, which provides care and respite to young adults with life-limiting conditions. Funds raised on race day – Sunday, October 19 – will go towards the hospice.
