A NUMBER of new reading zones have been created in Moulsham High School's library and are already proving successful.

In addition, an area for quiet reading has been established which recently focused on the books on the Carnegie shortlist.

Newdisplay units are also motivating students to try different titles based on books they already like.

For instance, fans of the Hunger Games books can find similar books they may also enjoy.

By far the most popular book request recently has been the Fault in Our Stars, by John Green, and the librarians hope this is in response to the poster designed by Georgia Bear and Abbie Rose- Horne, rather than the Hollywood movie.

Neva Hales, librarian, said: “Georgia and Abbie’s poster proved such a talking point that it inspired a reading poster competition and we are hoping to work more closely with Chelmsford Central Library so others can our students’ work.”
