The Mayor of Chelmsford was among those who attended The Boswells School's annual Art and Photography Exhibition.

The event was a celebration of all the hard work put in by GCSE and A-Level students over the last year.

All four art rooms were filled with skilful, imaginative and creative pieces by more than 60 students.

The school's Head of Expressive and Performing Arts and Head of Art, Poppy Wallis, said: "This year we had the special addition of work from Tyrrells and Perryfields Year 5 and 6 students.

"The art rooms were packed with students, family, friends and staff during the evening and it really was an opportunity for everyone to share their hard work and showcase some hidden talents.

"We were honoured that the Mayor of Chelmsford, councillor Paul Hutchinson, joined us and spent a considerable amount of time looking at the work and talking to staff and students."

She added: "The evening really was a wonderful way to bring the end of the year to the close for the students."
