THE FATHER of murdered teenager Ashley Woolley says he is “delighted” the Give 10 Pints For Ashley campaign will help save the lives of others.

Ashley, 18, received ten pints of blood during the battle to save his life after he was stabbed in Oaklands Park , Chelmsford, in December.

He died of his injuries, but since his death his father, Trevor Woolley, from Witham, has worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the importance of giving blood and the dangers of knife crime.

He has vowed to donate ten pints of blood in his son’s memory and, through our Give 10 Pints For Ashley campaign, is encouraging others to do the same and help save more lives.

He said: “This is Ashley’s legacy, that more lives will be saved by people donating blood in his memory.

“It’s very exciting this is now going ahead and people ar e signing up – there has been so much support already.

“It’s also highlighting ho w important it is to give blood.

You never really know how important until you or someone you know needs it.

“I’ll be there on the day and will be giving blood myself and I will be supporting anyone else who is there on the day.

“It’s such a comfort to us all, but it’s something amazing which could save so many more lives as well as doing something special in Ashley’s memory, so we are delighted.”
