A PUB will be spreading some Christmas cheer by holding a Nativity with a difference.

Youngsters from St Michael’s Church in Galleywood hope to spend several weeks in Africa next year completing community work but need a helping hand to raise the funds.

The special Eagle Pub nativity will raise money towards the expedition.

Customers of The Eagle Pub in Stock Road, Galleywood, will take on the starring roles of the traditional Nativity story but pub landlady Jacqui Coldron has promised pints of fun as well.

She said: “We were originally going to hold a carol evening but I thought we have a big garden so why not hold a nativity with our customers playing the parts?

“They have all been really keen to do their bit, it will tell the traditional story but will be a bit different as we are a pub so it will have humour and music and even some rapping by the singer playing Mary.

“Father Christmas will be around and there will be a raffle too so it should be good fun.”

The nativity will be held on December 19 at about 6.30pm. For more details call the pub on01245 496571.
