POLICE are at the scene of an armed robbery at HSBC bank in Dunmow High Street, today (Thursday June 23).
The suspect robbed a security guard of a cash box while making a delivery to the bank, just before 11am.
The man was reported to be in possession of a firearm, according to police reports.
The suspect had his face covered, was around 5ft 10ins tall and dressed in dark clothing.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the armed robber, and are linking a vehicle found on fire in nearby Mill Lane with the crime.
The car is a blue Volkswagen Golf and officers want to hear from anyone who saw it in the High Street prior to the robbery.
