FIREFIGHTERS were called to a field fire involving eight hectares of grass-land, on Monday July 25.
A total of five fire engines attended the blaze in West Hanningfield Road, Great Baddow, after responding to a 999 call at 10:10am.
Using beaters, three hose reel jets and back pack sprayers, crews extinguished the fire, which has been labelled accidental, by 11.30am.
Crews led seven horses away to safety while they tacked the fire.
Great Baddow, Chelmsford, South Woodham Ferrers and two Maldon fire engines were in attendance.
