Anglia Ruskin University has been listed in the Times Higher Education’s World University Rankings for the first time – being named as one of the top 350 institutions in the world.

This prestigious ranking lists the best 980 higher education institutions around the world and is headed by the University of Oxford, followed by the California Institute of Technology, and Stanford University.

Anglia Ruskin, which has campuses in Chelmsford, Cambridge and Peterborough, has been given a ranking of 301-350, which puts it joint 38th highest in the UK.

The rankings are the only global university performance table to judge world-class universities across all their core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

Professor Iain Martin, Vice Chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University, said: “Our appearance in the Times Higher Educations’s World University Rankings is down to the constant improvement we have seen in recent years in all our core missions. Across our education, research and engagement activities we are continually identifying ways in which to enhance what we do for the benefit of our students and the wider community.

“This listing is something to celebrate and is a real tribute to our hard-working and talented staff and all those who have supported the growth and development of our university. We all take great pride in this achievement and see this as a strong platform on which to build for our future.”

Anglia Ruskin was also recently named by Firetail as one of the top 20 global ‘rising star’ institutions predicted to challenge the global elite by 2030.
