A MAN was pronounced dead at the scene after officers were called to a concern for welfare report on the Dartford Crossing, police have confirmed.
Police were called to concerns for the welfare of a man on the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, at the Dartford Crossing in Essex, at around 9am this morning.
All emergency services were in attendance and sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Essex Police says his family are aware.
The bridge was fully closed while emergency services were on the scene, and has since been re-opened.
A spokesman for the force said: "Officers were called to the QEII bridge at around 9am this morning following a concern for welfare report.
"Emergency services were in attendance and sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"His family are aware.
"The bridge was fully closed and has since been re-opened."
