THE Red Beret return to Ridley League action this season after more than a decade’s absence, with something to live up to. The Melbourne pub’s brief previous stay was crowned in millennium year by Les Tinsley’s men’s singles title win.
The Beret have drawn a bye in the season’s opening week but champions Globe, back on their old stamping ground after a year's absence and re-branded as Chelmsford City FC A.
But the big clash of the week looks to be at Felsted, where Chequers B entertain Dog & Partridge, who squeezed them out of runners-up spot last season by a point.
Fixtures: Bird in Hand v Cricketers, Black Bull v Lt Waltham SC, City FC B v City FC A, Chequers B v Dog & Partridge, Compasses v Chequers A.
