CHELMSFORD City’s miserable run at Twerton Park continued as they lost 2-0 to Bath City.

The Clarets have not won beaten Bath on their home ground since February 2004 and the hosts made sure that hoodoo continued for another season in the league.

Ben Adelsbury put Bath in front in the 17th minute with a strike from 25 yards.

And unmarked Kaid Mohamed, who has recently re-signed for the West Country team, added a second on the stroke of half-time following a corner.

The victory ended Bath’s seven-game run without a league win but it could have been a different story if Chelmsford’s Matt Whichelow and Jordan Brown had not been denied by bath goalkeeper Steve Phillips before Adelsbury scored.

The Romans sat back and defended their lead in the second half and the Clarets were unable to find a way back into the game as they were restricted to few chances.

The best fell to substitute Hugo Skepelhorn and Luke Daley but both were stopped by Bath keeper Steve Phillips.

Chelmsford goalkeeper Christian Dibble denied Mohamed a second from a free-kick and then did well to save from Dave Pratt after he beat a trio of Clarets players.

Chelmsford will be hoping to get their first win in three games when they host Truro City on Saturday (3pm).

The visitors go into the game fresh from a 2-1 home win over Margate and lying 12th in the table, a point behind ninth-placed Chelmsford.
