TWO major upsets sent the Ridley League title race see-sawing back in favour of the Dog & Partridge.

Leading pair Little Waltham SC and City FC A both slumped to defeat to leave the Dog in pole position, a point clear and with a match in hand.

Black Bull’s win at Waltham, avenging an opening-week reverse, was all the sweeter for a dominoes whitewash against their great rivals.

City FC’s B team made light of the absence of three dartsmen to stall their stablemates’ hopes of retaining the title.

There were tons galore at Great Leighs, where the Dog beat Chequers B with a little to spare, while Cricketers stormed into the reckoning, grounding Bird in Hand 15-0.

Matt Day had 2-0 wins in the singles, doubles and mixed plus a 152 in-shot as Chequers A took the verdict against Compasses.

Results: CCFC A 7, CCFC B 8 (singles/pairs 4-3, mixed 1-0, women 0-1, dominoes 2-4); Chequers A 10, Compasses 5 (5-2, 1-0, 0-1, 4-2); Cricketers 15, Bird in Hand 0 (7-0, 1-0, 1-0, 6-0); Dog & Partridge 9, Chequers B 6 (6-1, 0-1, 1-0, 2-4); Lt Waltham SC 6, Black Bull 9 (4-3, 1-0, 1-0, 0-6). Fixtures: Mixed Pairs (Chequers & Dog & Partridge).
